Cookie Consent Plugin for WordPress

DSGVO PIXELMATE

Keep your user data together. DSGVO Pixelmate controls external resources and makes sure they only load when your users actually want them to.

Complex without
overwhelming

The intelligent cookie consent plugin that detects 200+ services and automatically blocks them until your users consent

A proper consent plugin does far more than just generate a “cookie” banner. It monitors all traffic between your website and external servers, informs your users in detail about the services in use and obtains consent where necessary.

intelligent
Automatic script blocking

Tracking scripts are fully blocked until the visitor actively consents. No manual intervention needed.

design
Endless design possibilities

Your cookie banner should match your website 100%. The design settings let you display the banner exactly the way you need it.

simple
no-code

The plugin is built to be as simple as possible, so you do not have to write a single line of code yourself.

affordable
Lifetime or subscription

You can decide for yourself whether you want a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime license.

Assistance

A setup wizard that explains and handles complex integrations

To make things as comfortable as possible for you, we have built a setup wizard that helps you with the initial setup and is also available later for individual integrations.

This way you can integrate complex services such as Facebook Pixel or Google Tag Manager correctly and faster, without constantly jumping back and forth between the docs and the settings.

How is Cloudflare Turnstile embedded?
Embedded externallyTurnstile is embedded by a form plugin or theme, e.g. via its own Turnstile setting. Pixelmate stores no credentials and lists the connection to Cloudflare in the cookie modal under “Necessary”.
Integrate manuallyPixelmate embeds Turnstile into the selected forms itself. On submission a notice about the connection to Cloudflare appears, after which Pixelmate verifies the submission on the server side.
Enter Site Key and Secret Key
How to find the keys: In the Cloudflare dashboard, click “Turnstile” → “Add widget” on the left. Enter a name, add your website's domain under “Hostnames”, choose the widget mode “Managed” and click “Create”. Site Key and Secret Key are then shown on the widget page – for an existing widget under “Turnstile” → widget → “Settings”.

How should Google Fonts be handled?
When a page loads fonts from Google, your visitors' IP address is transmitted to Google. The most privacy-friendly option is to download the fonts once and serve them from your own server – then no consent is needed.
Store locally & block external loading entirelyRecommended. Pixelmate downloads the fonts and then prevents any loading from fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com – no matter whether a theme, plugin or page builder embeds them. Without a connection to Google, no consent is needed.
Store locally, load externally only as a fallback after consentThe local fonts apply immediately. Embeds from Google stay blocked until consent is given (category “Other”) and then load additionally – e.g. if the search did not find a font.
Classify as a necessary service & always load externally (not recommended)
Store fonts locally
Store the fonts locally before you continue: after saving, Pixelmate blocks any loading of Google Fonts – fonts that are not stored locally are then replaced by a default font.

WordPress emojis without a connection to s.w.org
WordPress embeds an emoji script on every page that loads images from s.w.org (WordPress.org servers) in browsers without their own emoji support. Current browsers render emojis themselves anyway.
Disable WordPress emoji conversionRecommended: Removes the WordPress emoji detection script and thereby prevents any connection to s.w.org, with no consent request needed.
Keep WordPress emoji script
How is Google reCAPTCHA embedded?
Embedded externallyreCAPTCHA is embedded by a form plugin or theme, e.g. via its own reCAPTCHA setting. Pixelmate stores no credentials and lists the connection to Google in the cookie modal under “Necessary”.
Integrate manuallyPixelmate embeds reCAPTCHA into the selected forms itself. On submission a notice about the connection to Google appears, after which Pixelmate verifies the submission on the server side.
reCAPTCHA is already embedded externally (e.g. via a form plugin with its own reCAPTCHA integration). Pixelmate does not take over any credentials or form verification here, but points visitors to the connection to Google in the cookie modal under “Necessary" - regardless of cookie consent, since the connection is technically necessary.
How should the Facebook Pixel be embedded?
The Facebook Pixel (Meta Pixel) is always listed under “Marketing” and only loaded after consent.
Pixelmate embeds the pixel (Pixel ID, recommended)You only enter the Pixel ID, Pixelmate embeds the pixel itself – with Advanced Matching and Conversions API if you wish.
Via Google Tag ManagerThe pixel is set up as a tag in your GTM container. Pixelmate outputs no code of its own and reports consent to the dataLayer.
Via another pluginThe pixel is embedded by another plugin, e.g. PixelYourSite or the official Meta plugin.
Enter Pixel ID
How to find the Pixel ID: In the Meta Events Manager, click “Data sources” on the left and select your pixel (dataset). The 15- to 16-digit ID is shown directly below the name and in the “Settings” tab. Open Meta Events Manager

Advanced Matching
Advanced Matching improves conversion attribution by matching user data (email, name, phone, etc.). Automatic matching scans your forms, manual matching sends user data from WordPress. All data is hashed in the browser (SHA-256) before it is sent to Facebook.

Conversions API (CAPI)
The Conversions API (CAPI) sends events to Facebook on the server side and thereby bypasses browser restrictions, ad blockers and iOS14+ tracking limits. In 2025 Facebook strongly recommends using Pixel + CAPI together for optimal performance.
Legal note: The Conversions API is also subject to consent. Pixelmate only sends a server-side event if the visitor's consent cookie contains marketing consent. The IP address, browser identifier, the requested URL and the Meta cookies _fbp/_fbc are then transmitted, and with manual Advanced Matching additionally the selected profile data of logged-in users (hashed). Mention the Conversions API in your privacy policy.
Enable Conversions APIAdditionally sends events to Facebook on the server side (recommended for best performance).
No, only the pixel in the browser
Set up Conversions API
With the Conversions API, Pixelmate additionally sends PageView, the conversion event rules, shortcodes and WooCommerce events on the server side – with the same event ID so that Meta deduplicates them.
How to generate the access token: In the Meta Events Manager → “Data sources” → your pixel → “Settings” → “Conversions API” section → “Generate access token”. You will find the Test Event Code in the “Test events” tab.

How should Google Ads be embedded?
Google Ads is always listed under “Marketing” and only loaded after consent.
Tag ID (recommended)Pixelmate embeds the Google Ads tag itself – with Consent Mode v2 and only after consent.
Via Google Tag ManagerGoogle Ads is set up as a tag in your GTM container. Pixelmate outputs no code of its own and reports consent to the dataLayer.
Take over existing codeThe gtag.js code is currently in the theme or in another plugin. Pixelmate takes it over and blocks it until consent is given.
Create trigger in Google Tag Manager
After every consent decision, Pixelmate sends the event “pixelmate_consent_update” to the dataLayer. You attach your Google Ads tags to it.
Google Tag Manager is not set up in Pixelmate yet. Additionally select it in the “Manual” step so that Pixelmate holds back the container until consent is given.
Base tags: pixelmate_consent_update + pixelmate_consent.gates.<service_key> equals true; once per page. Conversions: business event + the same tag gate, never consent update alone. Open Google Tag Manager
How should Google Tag Manager be embedded?
Pixelmate loads the container only after consent and automatically sends the signals for Consent Mode v2.
Container ID (recommended)You only enter the ID, Pixelmate embeds the container itself.
Paste GTM codeFor customized snippets, e.g. with your own dataLayer name or your own tagging domain.
Via another pluginThe container is currently inserted by another plugin, e.g. GTM4WP or Site Kit.
Enter Container ID
How to find the ID: Open Google Tag Manager and select your account. The container ID starts with “GTM-” and is shown in the container overview and at the top right of the workspace next to “Submit”. Open Google Tag Manager

Consent Mode v2: When should the Google code load?
Google recommends loading the code before consent with the status “denied”. Under the GDPR, however, nothing may generally be loaded without consent – Pixelmate therefore loads only after consent by default.
Load only after consent (Basic, recommended)Before consent, Pixelmate only sets the status “denied” locally – without a connection to Google.
Load with “denied” before consent (Advanced)The Google code loads immediately with “denied” and sends cookieless signals to Google until consent is given – regardless of the category.

DSGVO Pixelmate works with an automated website scanner that automatically detects external services and sets them up correctly.

For this we maintain our own cookie database with texts, domains and all important information on 200+ different services.

All unknown services are also blocked automatically until your users consent.

Making a website GDPR compliant is never really easy, but we have done our best to make the setup as pleasant as possible for you.

01
Install & activate plugin

After purchase you can simply download and install the plugin and activate your license.

02
Use the wizard

The wizard systematically walks you through all the fields you should fill in, scans your website for existing integrations and suggests how you can embed them. Google Fonts can be stored locally and blocked externally with one click. If needed, you can also set up further services here that were not on your website before.

03
Customize design

The cookie banner should of course also match your existing design. Simply choose a template and adapt it the way you need it. The WCAG scanner helps you maintain accessibility.

04
Test & go live

Disable test mode and you can see live whether everything is set up as you want it.

Embedded services such as YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, Spotify and others must not simply be loaded without consent. DSGVO Pixelmate blocks them and replaces them with a banner that allows users to release them afterwards.

You do not need to change anything on your website. Simply activate your services and the banners appear automatically where they belong.

What our customers say

The easy setup, the numerous integrations and the reliable operation. Consent Mode and the content blockers in particular make our work on our client websites much easier. We also really like the continuous development.

It is easy to install and works right away. I also particularly like the versatile and easily customizable interface, so that it can be integrated seamlessly into the design of the site. And the support is especially helpful – easy to reach and it really helps.

Source: OMR

The plugin is built super intuitively and is very easy to configure. That does not mean you cannot make “professional” settings, though – all of it is still possible – I have never had a case where I could not get something to work 🙂

FAQ

Pixelmate is a WordPress plugin that makes your website GDPR-compliant: it displays a cookie banner, blocks tracking scripts (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, YouTube) until consent is given and logs every consent decision in a tamper-proof way.

For operators of individual WordPress websites as well as for agencies and freelancers who manage several client projects (multi-site licenses available).

Via the built-in Integration Manager, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn, TikTok, HubSpot, YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, Spotify, Calendly and more – plus any custom services.

Yes. Colors, fonts, borders, width and position can be fully customized, including dark and light mode in the admin area.

The cookie banner and script blocking are removed. Consents already given remain stored until they are deleted by the browser or manually.

Purchases are made directly through Freemius, our payment and license provider – either via the Pixelmate website or directly from the WordPress plugin after installation.

Freemius accepts common credit cards and PayPal. You can see details and currently supported methods during checkout.

That depends on your license plan: single-site licenses apply to one domain, multi-site licenses (e.g. for agencies) to several domains at the same time. WordPress multisite installations are also supported.

Yes. In the WordPress admin under Pixelmate → License, simply deactivate it on the old domain and activate it on the new domain – or manage the activation directly in the Freemius dashboard.

In your Freemius account under “Subscription" → “Disable auto-renewal" or “Cancel". The plugin keeps working until the end of the paid period.

The plugin stays installed, but updates and premium support are only available again after renewal. Settings already configured and the banner remain active.

Yes, as long as your license is active, WordPress automatically notifies you of new versions and you can install them as usual via the plugins area.
